Raising Autism Surviving the Early Years eBook Kimberlee Rutan McCafferty

If you or anyone else know a family enduring an autism diagnosis, you’ve just met your best friend Kim who will take you on her journey, teach you, inspire you and sympathize with you as you learn the intricacies of being the Mom of 2 autistic sons. Her writings are honest, loving, well-thought out, caring and I felt as if we were sitting on the couch at her house and I asked her to tell me about the early years with her sons’ and their autism. She’s your best friend and her ability to reach out and explain what it’s like for her family and her boys and how she’s dealt with the feelings that have accompanied their journey is nothing short of incredible. It’s in her honesty that I immediately sat down and wanted to finish her book. She doesn’t shy away from sadness nor happiness. She shoots straight from the heart and bulls eye ~ you understand.
I do not have special needs children, but her book caught my eye with its interesting take on autism. It's not to be missed!

Raising Autism Surviving the Early Years eBook Kimberlee Rutan McCafferty Reviews

I wish I could have had this book twelve years ago when my oldest son first got diagnosed with autism. I felt like no one I knew "got it" and at times felt completely alone on my journey through the maze of autism. Kim is one mom who thoroughly understands the challenges and triumphs and shares her story with humor and honesty. Just to know someone else out there is experiencing similar challenges will give you moral support and hope for a brighter future! Kim's book is a must read for anyone raising a child on the autism spectrum!
Very emotional book. I can relate. I eenjoy lesring more about the laws in othr state than FL . Good reading. -)
Wonderful book!
This book is written beautifully with a heartfelt honesty and raw emotion. Although the challenges of raising a child with dissabilities are constant the author finds a way to experience joy and humor through it all.
As the grandmother of two Autistic boys, I found this this book informative. So much to learn and try to understand. It just breaks my heart. I, too, wonder what the future holds for my boys. I need to research some of the things Kim mentions in her book. I would like to be a part of their learning and know how to get them to communicate with me. Thank you, Kim , for sharing your story
Very relatable (as I am an Autism parent) and inspiring. I appreciate her honesty; which made me feel like I was not alone (or crazy) in my struggles. Thank you for sharing your story! I recommend this book to any parent with a child on the spectrum.
I am an educator of children with autism in early intervention and elementary school settings. I think that educators sometimes get lost in the data and the research of educating children with autism and forget the personal side of autism. I recommend this book to educators in order to understand the daily trials and tribulations of families raising children with autism. Mrs. McCafferty has shared the most personal details of her experiences with two sons with autism in a beautiful way. She recognizes and shares the difficulties of autism but also praises the aspects of autism that make her children so wonderful. Thank you Mrs. McCafferty for sharing your story with us. You are an amazing woman!
